Temperature Maintenance Valve

Description

The purpose of this Far 3-way valve is to maintain a returning water temperature to a boiler of greater than 55 degrees. This prevents what’s called ‘cold end corrosion’ inside the combustion chamber. 

Cold end corrosion is caused by a low returning water temp into the bottom (cold end) of a boiler (typically, but not limited to a solid fuel boiler). The cooler water entering the bottom of the boiler causes condensation on the inside of the combustion chamber which causes rust and rots through the water jacket. 

The temperature maintenance valve is also very important for a solid fuel boiler as burning wood requires a very hot combustion chamber and having cooler water cool down the combustion chamber cools down the actual flame or combustion.
